Kuwait Power and Desalination Facility Hit in Overnight Attack; Indian Worker Killed

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 30: An overnight attack linked to ongoing Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait struck one of the service buildings at a power and water desalination station, leaving one worker dead and causing significant structural damage, authorities said.

Fatima Hayat, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, confirmed that the victim was an Indian national. The targeted building sustained heavy material losses, though core operations at the facility remain under close monitoring.

Hayat stated that technical and emergency teams were immediately deployed in line with approved contingency plans. Efforts are underway to contain the impact of the strike and ensure continued operational efficiency, with full coordination between security forces and relevant authorities to secure the site.

She urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information, emphasizing the importance of relying on official sources for updates. Authorities have pledged transparency as the situation develops.

Reaffirming the ministry’s priorities, Hayat stressed that safeguarding the stability of electricity and water systems remains paramount, with technical teams working around the clock to maintain uninterrupted essential services.
