KUWAIT CITY, Nov 24: Kuwait’s population witnessed a significant surge during the first nine months of 2025, increasing by 3.6 percent—equivalent to 181,000 people—to reach 5.169 million by the end of the third quarter. This marks the highest growth rate recorded since 2021. At the end of December 2024, the population stood at 4.988 million.
According to quarterly data released by the Central Bank of Kuwait, based on figures from the Public Authority for Civil Information, Kuwait’s population grew by approximately 4.44 percent annually at the end of the third quarter of 2025. This reflects an increase of 223,000 people compared to 4.946 million in September 2024. The population also posted a quarterly growth of 1.37 percent from its second-quarter figure of 5.099 million, adding around 70,000 residents.
A review of previous years shows that Kuwait’s population growth has remained relatively steady since 2021, registering a 2.3 percent rise in 2022, followed by 2.59 percent in 2023, and 2.6 percent by the end of 2024.
