Kuwait Police Seize 126 Liquor Bottles and Cash in Salmiya

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 17: The Hawalli police have successfully apprehended two foreign nationals involved in the promotion of locally-produced liquor in the Salmiya area. The individuals were found in possession of 126 bottles of local liquor and an estimated amount of one thousand dinars.

According to a security source, the incident unfolded when a police patrol observed people transferring black bags from one vehicle to another in the Salmiya area during the afternoon. Upon approaching the individuals, they attempted to flee but were pursued and eventually apprehended. The two individuals were identified as expatriates.

Upon inspecting the bags, authorities discovered 126 bottles of locally-produced liquor and a sum of one thousand dinars. Subsequent investigations revealed that the accused were involved in producing local liquor in an apartment and selling it to customers. At the time of their arrest, they were transporting the liquor for distribution to customers, and the seized amount represented the proceeds from a previous sale. The confiscated items were duly seized and handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
