KUWAIT CITY, Jan 11: A shocking case of fraud has rocked the local car rental sector after a Kuwaiti citizen allegedly betrayed the trust of a luxury car rental company. According to a police report filed by the company’s lawyer, the suspect rented a 2020 Range Rover on October 12, 2025, and initially paid the fees up to November 25. However, he then vanished, switching off his phone and cutting all communication with the company.
When he resurfaced using a different number, he returned the vehicle on December 2, 2025, yet still failed to settle the accumulating bill, which had reached 970 dinars by the time the complaint was lodged. Despite repeated promises to pay, the accused never honored his obligations.
Further investigations by the Criminal Security Sector revealed a darker twist: the suspect was already wanted on an active arrest warrant issued by the General Department of Investigations in a fraud case. He is now officially on the wanted list, with authorities moving swiftly to bring him to justice.
In a separate but equally alarming incident, Taima detectives swiftly captured a man who brazenly stole a motorcycle from a young victim in the Al-Uyun area. The victim reported that he had been blocked and assaulted by the thief, who then fled with his motorcycle. Police launched an immediate pursuit, arresting the suspect in record time and referring him to the authorities for legal action.
These two incidents underscore the rising challenges of fraud and street crime, highlighting the vigilance of law enforcement in protecting citizens and businesses alike.
