KUWAIT CITY, Oct 27: Kuwait’s Criminal Security Sector has arrested a juvenile accused of possessing and distributing chemical narcotic liquid used to fill e-cigarettes, seizing 120 ml of the liquid and 64 e-cigarettes during the investigation.

The Ministry of Interior said the arrest was made by the General Department of Criminal Investigation following information received by the Juvenile Protection Department about the suspect’s alleged possession of narcotics and psychotropic substances for trafficking and personal use.

After conducting investigations, authorities identified the suspect’s location and obtained an arrest and search warrant from the Public Prosecution.

The juvenile was apprehended in the Firdous area, where officers found 40 empty e-cigarettes and a container holding 120 ml of the chemical narcotic liquid.

The suspect then led authorities to several locations in the Farwaniya area, where another 24 e-cigarettes filled with the same liquid were found.

When confronted with the seized items, the juvenile reportedly confessed to possessing the substances for personal use and trafficking to make money. He told investigators that he obtained the products through an intermediary who supplied them to him.

The necessary legal procedures were initiated in preparation for referring the juvenile to the competent authorities.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to protecting minors from drugs and psychotropic substances and combating their distribution. It urged parents to monitor their children, maintain open communication and educate them about the dangers of smoking, drugs and drug-promotion methods to help prevent addiction and exploitation.
