Kuwait Police arrest Father for drug trade, allegedly used son as a cover

KUWAIT CITY, May 17: Officers from Kuwait’s General Department of Criminal Investigation have referred a 48-year-old man to the Public Prosecution on charges of drug trafficking after he was allegedly caught using his minor son as a cover to evade arrest during security checks and vehicle inspections.

According to a security source, detectives received information that the suspect was involved in drug dealing and frequently travelled with his young son in an apparent attempt to avoid detection during police campaigns. Following surveillance, officers set up an ambush in the Hawally area and arrested the man.

A search of the vehicle reportedly led to the seizure of a quantity of narcotics before they could be delivered to customers. The suspect later confessed to the drug trafficking charges during questioning.

Authorities also confirmed that the minor was handed over to the Juvenile Prosecution for appropriate legal procedures, while the case against the father has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further action.
