KUWAIT CITY, May 20: The Ministry of Interior stated that the Hawally Governorate Security Directorate, through its Operations and Patrols Department (Hawalli Support Patrols), has arrested three individuals of Asian nationalities in separate incidents during routine security patrols in the governorate on suspicion of drug possession.
In the first incident, a patrol officer became suspicious of a pedestrian who attempted to flee upon noticing the security patrol. The individual was chased, apprehended after resistance, and subdued. He was found to be under the influence of drugs, and a search revealed 25 bags containing suspected narcotics, including 18 bags of a herbal substance and seven bags of a crystalline substance. He was identified as a Bangladeshi national.
In a second incident, patrol units observed two individuals inside a open car parking space, one of whom appeared to be digging. Upon approaching and inspecting the area, officers discovered 12 transparent bags containing a crystalline substance suspected to be narcotics. The two suspects were identified as Indian nationals.
Authorities said all suspects and seized materials were taken into custody and referred to the competent authorities for legal action.
The Ministry of Interior said security campaigns and field patrols will continue across the country to combat drug trafficking and maintain public safety.
