KUWAIT CITY, Jul 3: Kuwait's Ministry of Interior has arrested 10 people in seven separate drug-related cases, seizing large quantities of narcotics, psychotropic substances and cash allegedly linked to drug trafficking.
The General Department for Drug Control said the suspects were found in possession of drugs intended for both trafficking and personal use as part of the ministry's ongoing campaign to combat narcotics and protect society.
Among the items confiscated were 20,000 Captagon tablets, 500 grams of hashish, 84 grams of methamphetamine, 100 psychotropic capsules, seven Lyrica capsules, 28 glass tubes containing a chemical liquid, four precision scales used to prepare drugs for sale, packaging materials for distribution, and KD 1,940 believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
In one of the operations, a suspect caught allegedly selling Captagon pills attempted to flee by using his vehicle to ram security force vehicles. Authorities said officers acted swiftly to stop the escape, subdued the suspect using the necessary force, and secured the area without losing control of the situation.
All suspects, along with the seized drugs and other evidence, have been referred to the competent authorities for further legal action.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations and pursuing anyone involved in drug trafficking or distribution to safeguard public safety.
