Kuwait participate in Peg Picking Championship – Fairouz praises Kuwaitis performance

PETRA, Sept 25: The Kuwaiti equestrian team participated in the International Women’s Peg Picking Championship (Grand Prize), which was held in Petra, with the participation of 28 equestrians representing 14 countries, namely Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, Sudan, Russia, Belarus, Britain, Kazakhstan, Norway, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia, in addition to the Kingdom of Jordan, the host country.

Kuwaiti international judge, Nabila Al-Ali, Secretary-General of the Kuwait Equestrian Federation and head of the Kuwaiti delegation to the tournament, confirmed that the Kuwaiti team participated in the important sporting event at the invitation of Jordan among the activities accompanying the tournament. The rider Asmaa Malallah and the jockey Sarah Al- Mohammed also participated in the arbitration session, and the Kuwaiti team will arrive in the country tomorrow from the Kingdom of Jordan.

The International tent pegging Federation held courses for judges and coaches in Petra at the Old Village Hotel, including an international qualification course for referees for the golden and silver badges, an international coaching course for the golden badge, and an international coach course. For his part, the President of the International tent pegging Federation, Muhammad Fairouz, praised the honorable level of performance of Kuwaiti jockeys, which was evident through their participation with the jockeys of other countries, which were distinguished by their readiness and experience, and stressed the need to provide all possibilities to advance this sport, which the Federation seeks to become one of the Olympic sports soon.
