Kuwait opens ‘Tatman’ clinic for voluntary testing and counseling in Salwa
The Ministry of Health opens the Tatman Clinic for confidential voluntary testing and counseling at Salwa Specialized Center.

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 1: The Ministry of Health on Monday inaugurated the "Tatman" (Reassurance) Clinic for voluntary testing and counseling at the Salwa Specialized Center, aiming to provide early detection services with full confidentiality and respect for patient privacy.

Represented by the Hawally Health District, the clinic is part of Kuwait’s broader efforts to strengthen preventive healthcare and reduce the spread of infectious diseases of public health concern.

Dr. Mariam Mansouri, Head of Public Health Services at the Hawally Health District, told KUNA that the clinic will offer HIV testing along with professional counseling before and after the test, ensuring complete confidentiality for patients.

She added that the "Tatman" Clinic will also provide testing for syphilis, hepatitis B and C, and gonorrhea, within a structured health framework designed to preserve patient dignity and offer care without stigma or discrimination.

Dr. Mansouri emphasized that the clinic’s launch reflects the Ministry of Health’s vision to expand early detection services, improve access to testing, and raise community awareness of infectious diseases and prevention methods, ultimately contributing to enhanced health security in Kuwait.
