Kuwait opens its doors to Sudanese educators amid teacher shortages
Ministry of Education approves hiring of Sudanese teachers for certain subjects.

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: Kuwait’s Ministry of Education, through its General Education Sector, has approved the recruitment of teaching staff from the Republic of Sudan to address shortages in key scientific disciplines in government schools.

According to education sources, the approval focuses on scientific subjects that face a persistent lack of qualified national teachers, particularly in schools located in northern and southern regions.

The decision follows a comprehensive study by the Public Education Sector, which reviewed the teacher budget and analyzed the number of applicants from local recruitment campaigns. The study highlighted a continuing need for certain subjects that cannot be met solely by local staff.

The recruitment plan targets at least three major disciplines: mathematics, physics, and biology, especially for positions requiring male teachers.

Sources noted that the Sudanese Embassy in Kuwait and Sudan’s Ministry of Education have expressed strong interest in sending teachers to Kuwait, given the difficult economic and political conditions in Sudan, including ongoing conflicts and production stagnation.

The Sudanese authorities confirmed that their teaching staff possess the academic qualifications, professional experience, and dedication necessary to contribute effectively to Kuwait’s educational system.

The Ministry of Education said the move is aimed at enriching the educational process and ensuring that students in government schools have access to qualified teachers in essential scientific fields.
