Kuwait on Maximum Security Alert Ahead of National Festivities

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 24: As part of the Ministry of Interior’s preparations for national holidays and celebrations, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Ahmad Al-Wuhaib chaired a security meeting on Tuesday with the heads of the relevant security sectors to discuss final arrangements for securing the national holiday celebrations, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

The meeting began with Major General Al-Wuhaib welcoming the attendees and conveying the greetings and appreciation of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef. He stressed the importance of continuing joint efforts and strengthening coordination among the various sectors to ensure that the national celebrations reflect the civilized image of the State of Kuwait. During the meeting, Major General Al-Wuhaib reviewed the precautionary security plans and the level of readiness and coordination among the participating agencies.

He emphasized the need to work as a unified team and to exert maximum effort to ensure security and safety, as well as highlighted the importance of the field presence of security leaders to closely monitor the implementation of the established plans. Major General Al-Wuhaib stressed that security personnel must be fully prepared and constantly vigilant in performing their duties, enforce the law firmly, and address negative phenomena to maintain public order and ensure the safety of all.

He emphasized the importance of addressing inappropriate practices that may occur during celebrations, such as spraying water, obstructing traffic, and placing large flags on vehicles that impede visibility. Major General Al-Wuhaib stressed the need to treat the public with respect and provide assistance to those in need, especially the elderly and people with disabilities. He noted that celebrating National Day and Liberation Day reflects the joy of the citizens and their pride in their history, calling for these sentiments to be expressed in a manner that upholds the values of Kuwaiti society and its spirit of responsibility and commitment.
