Kuwait Olympic Committee: “Our Spirit is Golden” slogan of the 3rd Gulf Sports Games

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 16: The President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, announced on Thursday evening that the third Gulf Sports Games, scheduled to be held in Kuwait from January 9 to 19, will be launched under the title “Our Spirit is Golden”.

In a press statement, Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser stated that this slogan embodies the high sportsmanship that gathers Gulf youth in this largest sports gathering in the region, this event will bring together more than 1,500 athletes from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to compete in 15 team and individual sports.

He further stated that  “the most perfect thing about competition is winning gold medals, just as the most beautiful thing in sports is to have the spirit of sport, so that these two things are mixed by choosing this slogan, which expresses the spirit of brotherhood and honorable competition that distinguishes Gulf athletes. There is no loser among brothers.”
Sheikh Al-Nasser welcomed all the GCC states in their second country Kuwait, wishing success to all the participants and to the country’s political leadership’s support for the sports movement.

The tournament will include football, handball, volleyball and basketball, as well as swimming, athletics, karate, judo, fencing, archery, tennis, cycling, ice hockey, table tennis, and electronic games.
