Kuwait Olympic Committee member Hayat calls for support in women’s sports development

SHARJAH, Feb 7: Fatima Hayat, a member of the Kuwait Olympic Committee and head of women’s sports, emphasized the importance of supporting women’s sports and advocating for fairness in the upcoming government sports plan. Speaking at the Arab Tournament for Women’s Clubs in Sharjah, she commended the efforts of Sharjah in making the tournament a significant achievement in Arab sports.

Hayat expressed gratitude to Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi for sponsoring the tournament and praised the efforts invested in ensuring its success for athletes from the Arab world. She highlighted the impressive organization of the tournament, especially the opening ceremony, which left a positive impression on attendees and followers.

She revealed plans for organizing a course for Gulf clubs to support female players, enhance their skills, and share experiences. Stressing the importance of increasing women’s sports activities in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Hayat acknowledged the progress of women’s sports in Kuwait, thanks to the support of the political leadership and the commitment of the Olympic Committee and the General Authority for Sports.

Hayat congratulated Kuwaiti club players for their achievements in shooting, lauding the performance of the Salwa Al-Sabah Volleyball Club and the girl’s basketball team. She wished them success in upcoming competitions, contributing to the presence of Kuwaiti girls in various sporting events.
