Kuwait’s National Disabled Basketball teamIn preparation for the GCC Wheelchair Basketball Championship coming up in December at Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait’s National Disabled Basketball Team will play four friendly games with some teams in Embaba, Egypt within the next few days.
While receiving the Egyptian delegation, the Vice-Chairman of Kuwait Sports Club for the Disabled Nasser Al-Mahmi revealed that the matches will be played from Sunday until next Wednesday.
He declared that those games will serve as an opportunity to prepare the players for the championship in terms of stamina and technique, indicating that Kuwait is the current champion and is striving hard to retain its place.
Al-Mahmi explained that the Embaba Team has several Egyptian National Team players in its fold and remains a very strong team at the Arab and African levels. Kuwaiti players, especially the youngsters among them, will acquire experience from the guests and these games will consolidate Kuwaiti-Egyptian cooperation.
He said the team will round up preparations for the championship with external camping in Turkey starting from Nov 28 until shortly before the start of the championship which will be held from Dec 19 to Dec 26.
Al-Mahmi commended the Public Authority for Sport for its adequate support to the club.
