KUWAIT CITY, Mar 25: The Kuwait National Guard issued a reassuring statement on social media, accompanied by a video, emphasizing that radiation from neighboring countries does not pose a threat to Kuwait.
The statement comes amid regional developments that have raised public concerns about potential radioactive leaks. The National Guard clarified that the nearest advanced nuclear reactor is more than 240 kilometers away from Kuwait, a distance sufficient to greatly minimize any impact on the country.
According to the statement, “most of the radioactive material would fade before reaching Kuwait’s borders.”
Authorities also outlined precautionary measures to ensure complete safety:
- Remain inside your home and avoid going out unnecessarily.
- Keep windows and doors tightly closed to prevent the entry of contaminants.
- Follow updates from official news sources for the latest guidance.
The National Guard urged citizens and expats to stay calm, assuring the public that there is no need for panic or alarm.
This advisory reinforces Kuwait’s ongoing commitment to public safety amid regional uncertainties.
