KUWAIT CITY, Oct 25, (Agencies): The Kuwait Municipality has initiated its awareness campaign today, Wednesday, in preparation for the upcoming camping season, which commences on November 15th and continues until March 15th, 2024. The campaign, titled “Your Camp, Nature’s Trust – Preserve It,” aims to educate both citizens and residents about authorized camping sites officially approved by the Committee for the Study and Renovation of Campsite Locations. These locations are designated at 15 sites, distributed across 8 areas in the northern regions and 7 in the southern regions, with strict regulations against camping outside these areas.

According to Mohammed Al-Mutairi, the Director of Public Relations and the official spokesperson for the municipality, individuals seeking to camp must be familiar with the steps for reservation and obtaining a camping permit through a QR code on the official municipal website. To apply for a temporary permit, they are required to pay a fee of 50 Kuwaiti Dinars and submit a 100 Kuwaiti Dinars security deposit. The permit must be prominently displayed within the campsite.

Furthermore, the campaign hinges on disseminating informative advertisements (outdoor and mobile) throughout the streets of various governorates, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of camping sites, preserving the natural environment, and adhering to camping regulations and guidelines. The campaign also seeks to educate citizens and residents through various visual, printed, and auditory media outlets.

Al-Mutairi noted that a total of 183 advertisements have been strategically placed across different governorates, with 17 in Al Jahra, 22 in Mubarak Al Kabeer, 24 in Al Farwaniya, 32 in Al Ahmadi, 42 in the capital, and 46 in Hawalli.
