Kuwait Municipality cracks down on building violations
Municipality employees issue warnings to violators

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 12: Kuwait Municipality on Monday launched a month-long field inspection campaign to monitor construction work across the six governorates and ensure compliance with building regulations and standards for all residential uses.

Yousef Al-Badhali, Director of the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department at the Jahra Governorate branch, said in a press release that the inspections are being carried out under the supervision of national engineers from Kuwait Municipality.

Al-Badhali added that the inspection team began its rounds in Jahra Governorate, issuing two building code violations at private residences in the Mutlaa area and taking all necessary regulatory measures against the violators.

He explained that municipal teams conduct prior field inspections of residential sites, issue violations, and allow contractors a grace period to rectify the issues before enforcing further actions.

Al-Badhali noted that the first campaign will be followed by additional inspections in all governorates, according to a schedule set by the Public Relations Department in coordination with relevant municipal divisions.

He called on residents and contractors to adhere to municipal regulations and laws, stressing that supervisory teams across the six governorates are closely monitoring compliance during the campaigns.
