KUWAIT CITY, Aug 26: Kuwait Municipality announced Tuesday that 5,000 bags of waste have been collected from the beaches of islands across the country as part of the awareness campaign “Our Beaches Are Beautiful.”
The campaign, launched at the start of the summer season, aims to promote community participation in maintaining the cleanliness of Kuwait’s marine environment, the municipality said in a press statement.
Sanitation workers have been actively collecting waste discarded on the beaches, which violates public hygiene regulations. The campaign urges island visitors to act responsibly by gathering waste in bags and depositing it in designated containers.
Authorities emphasized that preventing littering helps preserve the cleanliness of the marine islands, which serve as recreational and health resources for the public. The beaches are also considered vital natural assets, with efforts to protect them reducing the harmful impact of waste on wildlife in the Arabian Gulf.
