VILNIUS, Aug 31: The International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM) has announced that Kuwait will host the U19 and U15 Modern Pentathlon World Championships in 2028, a decision made during the UIPM meeting in Lithuania held alongside the World Championships.

Nasser Al-Waleed, President of the Kuwait Modern Pentathlon Federation, said Kuwait’s bid received full approval and praise from all UIPM members and committees, noting that the country is the only Asian nation entrusted with hosting these prestigious events.

Al-Waleed expressed pride in representing Asia through this opportunity and emphasized Kuwait’s readiness to organize the championships in an “exceptional” manner befitting the nation’s sporting reputation.

He also extended his gratitude to the UIPM for its support and confidence in Kuwaiti staff, and thanked the Kuwait Olympic Committee and the Public Authority for Sports for their ongoing support of Kuwait’s young athletes, describing them as key partners in achieving this milestone.

Al-Waleed added that Kuwait’s selection to host the championships reflects the country’s outstanding presence in past Modern Pentathlon World Championships, the significant development of its pentathlon system, and the notable progress of Kuwaiti athletes in international competitions.
