“The project was referred to the Public Authority for Roads and Transportation (PART) in 2014. In the previous period, several proposals and projects from various government entities were rejected due to their conflict with the initial route for the Kuwait Metro project,” he disclosed. He stressed the need to focus on public transport strategies and the rapid implementation of public transport projects nationwide, considering the importance of these projects in linking future regions and cities with the existing ones and the need to keep pace with the expected population growth according to the fourth master plan for the country.
On the other hand, the Farwaniya Governorate Committee -- chaired by Deputy Chairman of the council Khaled Al-Mutairi -- met on Monday; leading to the approval of a request to add an area to Plots 39 in Block 24 in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and a request to add an area to Block 70 in Farwaniya. However, the committee expressed its disagreement with the proposal of council member Fahad Al-Abduljader to allocate truck parking areas in South Khaitan (Block Four), based on a technical opinion. The committee retained on its agenda the proposal of Al-Mutairi to create an exit (a roundabout on Road 108) opposite Farwaniya Dental Hospital in Sabah Al-Nasser, to invite representatives of the ministries of Public Works and Interior to deliberate on the proposal later.
Moreover, the Technical Committee, headed by Munira Al-Amir, will meet on Tuesday to discuss many items on its agenda as follows:
- Letter of Kuwait Municipality regarding the proposal to amend the tables attached to the building regulations,
- Final version of the proposed amendment to Table No. 2 regarding the requirements and specifications for investment housing buildings in and outside Kuwait City,
- Initial approval to reorganize part of the Mubarakiya suburb (formerly Block 15),
- Letter of a citizen about the proposal to add restaurants to areas larger than 1,000 square meters under the same conditions,
- Request of the owners of properties located and overlooking the extension of Al-Shuhada Street, in the eastern part of the city, to change the use from investment to commercial.
