KUWAIT CITY, Nov 11: Kuwait’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Monday instructed government agencies to implement the Smart License project, a key step in advancing the country’s comprehensive digital transformation and integration of government systems.
The ministry said in a press release that the circular forms part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the business environment in Kuwait. The project uses a barcode integrated into the Smart License as a primary tool for electronically verifying commercial license data for regulatory authorities, improving efficiency and expediting regulatory and service procedures.
Officials noted that the initiative is part of a broader strategy to transition from paper-based processes to a fully integrated digital system, aiming to promote transparency, facilitate services, and elevate the quality of the business environment.
The ministry emphasized that the Smart License project represents a pioneering step toward achieving Kuwait’s vision for digital transformation and is expected to boost confidence among business owners.
