Kuwait major US partner in trade & food security

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: The American Embassy, in cooperation with the US Department of Agriculture, organized the “Taste of America: Bringing a Slice of Gulfood to Kuwait” event. American Chargé d’Affaires Steve Butler, media representatives, importers, food industry leaders and government officials attended the event, which showcased the high quality, innovation and diversity of American food products, aiming to support trade and commercial diplomacy between the United States and Kuwait. Following the US delegation’s participation in Gulfood 2026, the event aimed to bring a portion of this global experience to the Kuwaiti market.

In his opening remarks, Butler emphasized that the event falls under the US Department of Agriculture’s Freedom 250 initiative, which aims to showcase American innovation and creativity, enhance trade opportunities, and strengthen bilateral relations with international partners, particularly Kuwait. Butler affirmed that Kuwait is a major partner for the United States in both trade and food security, adding that events like this provide an effective platform to foster communication between American exporters and Kuwaiti importers, explore future partnership opportunities, and exchange expertise in the food industry. He commended the US Department of Agriculture for supporting American exporters and expressed appreciation for the ongoing cooperation with Kuwaiti entities, emphasizing that US-Kuwaiti relations are built on decades of partnership, mutual trust and respect.
