Kuwait loses second friendly to Thailand

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 27: Kuwait’s basketball team lost their second friendly against Thailand 109-100 at the Kuwait Basketball Federation Hall, Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. In contrast, Kuwait had won the first friendly 84-71.

These matches are part of Kuwait’s early preparations for the upcoming Asian Cup qualifiers and other regional competitions.

The second match saw a different lineup and style of play. Key contributors for Kuwait included Hamad Adnan (25 points), Abdulaziz Al-Humaidi (23), Imran Johar (16), Alexander Al-Ghaith (9), Turki Al-Shammari (7), Saho Al-Saho (8), Ali Al-Haddhoud (3), Adel Al-Saeed (3), and Yousef Naseeb (2).

Thailand’s standout performer was Frederick Leech, who scored a game-high 38 points.

The first quarter was evenly matched, and Kuwait took a narrow lead at halftime, 56-52. In the third quarter, Thailand dominated both offensively and defensively, outscoring Kuwait 33-20 to take an 85-76 lead into the final quarter. Both teams scored 24 points in the fourth, resulting in a 109-100 win for Thailand.
