Kuwait limits ‘Taraweeh’ prayers to 20 minutes, ‘Qiyam’ to 30 min

KUWAIT CITY, March 7: Kuwait’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs announced on Saturday that Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers will be held in all mosques across the country. In a press statement, the ministry said that the duration of Taraweeh prayers will not exceed 20 minutes after the Isha prayer. Qiyam prayers will be held for 30 minutes, starting at 12:00 am and ending at 12:30 am, it added. The ministry noted that the measures come in light of the current circumstances facing the country and in the interest of ensuring the safety of worshippers and serving the public interest.(KUNA)
