KUWAIT CITY, Mar 22: The Public Prosecution has ordered strict confidentiality in two ongoing investigations involving espionage and threats to national security, prohibiting the publication or circulation of any related information.
Attorney General Saad Al-Safran issued the directive in accordance with legal provisions, emphasizing that findings will be disclosed to the public once investigations are completed.
In a statement, prosecutors said the cases involve serious allegations, including communication and coordination with terrorist organizations as part of plans affecting the sovereignty and security of the State of Kuwait. Authorities have already carried out arrests, searches, and seizures of devices linked to the suspected activities.
The investigation is being conducted in coordination with relevant authorities, with legal measures underway to prepare for referral of suspects to the judiciary. Officials stressed that such crimes carry severe penalties under Kuwaiti law.
On Sunday, March 22, 2026, the Attorney General and Public Prosecutor Meshaal Al-Ghannam reviewed the progress of the cases, receiving a detailed briefing from Chief Prosecutor Talal Al-Abdulrazzaq and a team of 11 prosecutors overseeing the investigations.
The Public Prosecution reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding national security while ensuring legal procedures are fully upheld.
