KUWAIT CITY, Aug 16: Fatima Abdulmohsen Al-Bannai, Executive Director of the Blue Shirt platform, has highlighted the importance of national support for innovation and digital transformation in Kuwait’s sports sector.
Blue Shirt is a national project focused on sports intelligence, developing a comprehensive national sports knowledge base, and using data to support decision-making and improve Kuwaiti sports performance.
Al-Bannai expressed her appreciation to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma for their support of young people, national initiatives, and efforts to create an environment that encourages innovation and empowers national talent.
She said the government’s support provides strong motivation for developing national projects, adding that Blue Shirt reflects Kuwait’s vision of building a modern sports system based on data and artificial intelligence.
Al-Bannai described the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, represented by Director General Bashar Abdullah, as a key milestone for the platform and an important step toward accelerating digital transformation in the sports sector.
The agreement is designed to strengthen institutional work grounded in reliable data and to support Kuwait’s broader move toward a knowledge-based economy and society.
Following the signing ceremony, officials from both sides held a joint meeting to discuss the agreement’s implementation and explore future areas of cooperation.
The partnership will focus on documenting sports data, developing knowledge bases, improving the quality and reliability of sports information, and providing accurate data to athletes, sports organizations, researchers, and decision-makers.
