Kuwait launches national cybersecurity awareness campaign
MoI and the National Cybersecurity Center launch an awareness drive on Global Cybersecurity Day.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: The National Cybersecurity Center (NCC) and the Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Thursday launched a national campaign for cybersecurity awareness under the slogan “Awareness, Prevention and Protection,” coinciding with Global Cybersecurity Day and World Cybersecurity Month.

In a joint statement, the NCC and MoI — represented by the Public Relations and Security Media Department and the Cybercrime Combating Department — announced that the campaign aims to enhance public awareness of modern cyber threats and empower individuals to protect their digital data and accounts.

The initiative is being implemented in cooperation with the Sahel unified government e-services application and the Government Communication Center, reflecting a coordinated national effort to promote cybersecurity at all levels of society.

The campaign highlights key cybersecurity topics, including deepfake awareness, password safety, phishing threats, Wi-Fi security, and social media privacy. It also encourages safe digital practices such as creating strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and disseminating alert messages to reduce the risks of online fraud and cyberattacks.

According to the statement, this campaign is a critical step toward unifying national efforts in building cyber resilience, fostering responsible online behavior, and ensuring a secure digital environment for all citizens and residents.
