KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: The Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) carried out an inspection campaign on Tuesday in Mahboula to monitor buildings and shops for violations of safety and fire prevention regulations, under the direct supervision of KFSD Chief Major General Talal Al-Roumi.

The campaign follows directives from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah to increase the frequency of inspection campaigns, Brigadier Mohammad Al-Ghareeb, Director of Public Relations and Media at KFSD, told KUNA.

The initiative involved the Ministry of Interior, the Kuwait Municipality, and more than 300 KFSD personnel. Inspection teams immediately began checking facilities across the area, issuing citations to violators and closing sites that posed a threat to public safety.

Brigadier Al-Ghareeb said the campaign uncovered multiple violations, including expired fire licenses, improper storage of materials, blocked emergency exits, exposed electrical wiring, and neglected fire equipment maintenance.

He emphasized that the campaign is part of ongoing efforts to enforce safety standards and protect lives and property, noting that KFSD continues similar inspection campaigns across all governorates.

Al-Ghareeb called on building and shop owners to comply with fire safety requirements and cooperate with inspection teams, stressing that adherence is essential to prevent violations and legal consequences.
