Kuwait launches initiative to empower teachers with AI tools
The Hawalli Governorate Council launches the 'Empowering Teachers with Artificial Intelligence Tools' initiative.

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: The Hawalli Governorate Council on Tuesday launched the “Empowering Teachers with Artificial Intelligence Tools” initiative, aimed at enhancing the teaching process and creating a learning environment aligned with modern technologies.

The initiative was inaugurated under the patronage and in the presence of the Governor of Mubarak Al-Kabeer and the Acting Governor of Hawalli, Sheikh Sabah Bader Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. Following the opening ceremony, a training course on artificial intelligence tools for teachers began, presented by Dr. Fatima Al-Nassar and attended by Dr. Fai Ben Salamah, Head of the Health, Education, and Community Development Committee of the Hawalli Governorate Council.

Dr. Ben Salamah told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the program is designed to support teachers in addressing challenges related to curricula and teaching loads. She noted that Hawalli Governorate has more than 11,500 teachers, highlighting the need for practical solutions to simplify daily tasks and improve the educational process.

She explained that the initiative will provide regular AI training courses for teachers—at least one course per month—with plans to eventually cover all schools in the governorate. Educational AI tools, she said, can instantly summarize lessons, convert content into presentations, videos, and animations, and significantly reduce preparation time and work-related stress.

“The initiative facilitates lesson planning, creates a healthy learning environment for teachers, and enhances the effectiveness of delivering information to students,” Dr. Ben Salamah said.

The first phase of the initiative targets schools in Hawalli Governorate, with readiness to collaborate with other governorates, share expertise, and expand the program’s reach in the future. She emphasized that the initiative aims to provide a stimulating learning environment that keeps pace with modern developments while leveraging advanced technologies to benefit both teachers and students.
