KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: The Ministry of Information, in coordination with the Ministry of State for Communications Affairs, on Wednesday launched its first training program focused on government tourism strategies and policies in partnership with Google.
The initiative, under the directives of Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, targets employees and supervisors of the Ministry of Information's Tourism Department. It covers key topics, including the fundamentals of the tourism industry, the use of artificial intelligence in tourism development, and mechanisms for building a national tourism strategy aimed at supporting sustainable growth.
The ministry said the program is the first in a series of training initiatives planned for government and private sector tourism workers, as well as other stakeholders, to enhance human resource efficiency, digital marketing skills, customer experience, and adoption of sustainable practices.
Undersecretary Dr. Nasser Muhaisen said the program aligns with the ministry’s strategy to improve media and tourism infrastructure, develop human competencies, and promote digital transformation, positioning tourism as a key contributor to the national economy.
Muhaisen added that collaboration with Google reflects Kuwait’s commitment to keeping pace with global trends in digital and sustainable tourism, strengthening the country’s position as a prominent tourist destination in the region.
