Kuwait Jails Police Officer 10 Years for Fabricating Charges Against Expats

KUWAIT CITY, April 20: The Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Abdulwahab Al-Muaili, sentenced a military officer assigned at a police station in the Capital Governorate to 10 years in prison with hard labor, fined him KD800, and dismissed him from his post. The defendant was convicted of fabricating malicious charges against several expatriates in exchange for bribes.

Case details revealed that the accused abused his authority at the police station by orchestrating baseless accusations against the expatriates. He exploited their legal circumstances to obtain financial compensation for easing their deportation or threatening them with deportation, thereby undermining the integrity of the security sector
