KUWAIT CITY, July 25: Chief of the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraian held high-level talks in Italy aimed at strengthening military cooperation and expanding the strategic defense partnership between the two countries. During his official visit to Rome, Al-Shuraian met with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto and Italy’s Chief of Defense, General Luciano Portolano, to discuss ways of enhancing bilateral defense cooperation and addressing issues of mutual interest. According to a statement issued by the Kuwaiti General Staff on Friday, Al-Shuraian was accorded an official reception ceremony at the headquarters of the Italian Defense General Staff in the Italian capital. The meetings focused on strengthening joint military cooperation, reinforcing the long-standing strategic defense partnership between Kuwait and Italy, and exploring avenues for broader collaboration between the armed forces of the two nations. The two sides also exchanged views on the latest regional developments and discussed efforts to promote security and stability in the region. Kuwaiti Ambassador to Italy Nasser Al-Qahtani attended the meeting with Defense Minister Crosetto, while Lieutenant General Al-Shuraian was accompanied throughout the visit by a delegation of senior Kuwaiti Army officers. The General Staff said the Kuwaiti delegation has since concluded its official visit and returned to Kuwait. (KUNA)
