KUWAIT CITY, Apr 25: Kuwait has issued six decrees withdrawing citizenship from a total of 1,266 individuals, along with those who had obtained nationality through dependency, according to notices published in the Official Gazette Kuwait Alyoum on Sunday.

Under Decree No. 65 of 2026, issued in accordance with Article 21 bis (A) of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law concerning forgery, citizenship certificates were revoked from 20 individuals, along with dependents who had acquired nationality through them. The decree includes a former member of the National Assembly of Kuwait, whose citizenship was rescinded following the withdrawal of nationality from his father.
Decree No. 66 and Decree No. 67 each stipulate the withdrawal of citizenship from one individual and those who obtained nationality through association with them.
The latest measures form part of ongoing reviews of citizenship files, particularly in cases involving alleged forgery or irregular acquisition.
