Kuwait introduces seven new commercial activities, including sea taxis and marine tourism

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 21: Kuwait has introduced seven new commercial activities, including sea taxi services, marine training and floating recreational activities, under a new ministerial resolution aimed at expanding the country’s economic activity framework.

Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment and Acting Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq issued Ministerial Resolution No. 184 of 2026 on the creation of new commercial activities, within the classifications covered by the unified guide for economic activities in the GCC countries.

The newly approved activities are:

Sea Taxi — international code 501101
Marine Exercises and Training — code 854900
Sale and Delivery of Consumer Orders by Sea — code 479900
Floating Recreational Activities — code 932906
Advertising Display Services in Marine Areas — code 731001
General Marine Repair and Maintenance Services — code 331509
Manufacturing of Automated Movable Shading Systems from Aluminum and Tensioned Fabrics — code 131087

The Ministry of Interior’s General Directorate of Coast Guard will oversee the six maritime activities, while the Public Authority for Industry will supervise the manufacturing activity involving automated movable shading systems.

The resolution took effect on the date of its issuance and will be published in the Kuwait Alyoum Official Gazette. Relevant authorities have been tasked with implementing the decision within their respective jurisdictions.
