Kuwait's internet quality declines after cable damage

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25, (KUNA): The Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has announced a disruption in the international submarine cable (Falcon) operated by GCX Company, which connects Kuwait to Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The cable was cut in an area outside Kuwaiti territorial waters, leading to a decline in internet service quality across the country.

CITRA, through its official social media accounts, stated that it is working closely with GCX to implement the necessary technical repairs. Additionally, the authority is collaborating with internet service providers to redirect data traffic via alternative international cables to ensure service continuity.
