KUWAIT CITY, July 26: Kuwait's Ministry of Interior (MOI) has denied social media reports claiming that authorities arrested a terrorist cell in the country, describing the information as false and not based on any official source.
In a statement, the ministry stressed that all matters related to national security are handled with complete transparency. It said that if any arrests involving terrorism or other security-related incidents were to occur, the public would be informed through the ministry's official channels in accordance with established procedures.
The MOI urged the public to verify information through official government sources and avoid sharing unverified reports or rumors circulating on social media.
The ministry also warned that publishing or recirculating false news that could harm the public interest may result in legal action under Kuwait's applicable laws and regulations.
The Ministry of Interior reiterated that its official accounts and official state entities remain the only reliable sources for security-related announcements.
