Kuwait Interior Ministry Launches Paperless Service for Faster Government Transactions

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 7: The Ministry of Interior has announced the launch of a new “paperless” service aimed at fully digitizing transactions and eliminating the need for physical documents, in a move designed to speed up procedures and improve service efficiency.

According to the ministry, the system will allow users to complete transactions electronically through authentication via the “My Kuwait Id” application, removing the requirement to print or photocopy documents. The initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize government services and streamline administrative processes.

The ministry said work is currently underway to develop 15 service centers that will implement the paperless system before the end of 2026. These centers will provide a range of services, including visa issuance, residency permit transfers and renewals, and vehicle ownership transactions.

An awareness video featuring ministry officers highlighted that the new system significantly reduces waiting times and enhances customer convenience. It also noted that the paperless initiative complements existing facilitation services for senior citizens and people with disabilities, such as the “Drive-Thru” service.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to adopting advanced technologies to improve service delivery and ensure a more efficient and seamless experience for citizens and residents.
