KUWAIT CITY, May 4: Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, has honored an employee for his vigilance that led to the exposure of an attempted illegal entry at the Al-Salmi border crossing.
The award was presented to Saad Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, an officer at the Al-Salmi border crossing under the Ports Security Sector of the Kuwait Ministry of Interior, in recognition of his professionalism and attention to detail during routine inspection procedures.
According to official details, the incident took place when a traveler attempted to enter Kuwait using a Kuwaiti emergency entry document, which is strictly issued only to Kuwaiti citizens. However, during standard verification procedures, including biometric fingerprint checks, authorities discovered discrepancies in the individual’s identity.
Further investigation revealed that the person had official records in Kuwait under a different name and was also in possession of a foreign passport, confirming that he was not a Kuwaiti citizen as initially claimed.
Following the discovery, the individual was immediately referred to the competent authorities for legal action and further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attempted entry.
