Kuwait Intercepts Two Missiles and a Drone Over Its Airspace

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 9: The Kuwaiti Armed Forces successfully repelled a wave of hostile aerial targets that entered the country’s airspace on Monday, March 9, 2026, according to a statement by Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Kuwait.

The ministry said air defense systems detected and destroyed two ballistic missiles in the south and one hostile drone, confirming that the explosion sounds heard across some areas were from intercept operations.

The General Staff of the Army urged the public to follow all security and safety instructions issued by competent authorities. The statement reaffirmed that the Armed Forces remain on high alert, prepared to confront any threats to safeguard Kuwait’s sovereignty, security, and national interests.
