KUWAIT CITY, March 20: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense announced that its armed forces detected and destroyed one ballistic missile and 25 hostile drones within Kuwaiti airspace over the past 24 hours.
In a media briefing, official spokesperson Colonel Saud Al-Atwan said air defence systems successfully neutralized 15 drones, while two drones struck a refinery unit of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.
The attack triggered a fire at the facility, which was swiftly brought under control by specialized emergency teams, with no casualties reported. Colonel Al-Atwan added that eight drones crashed without causing any damage.
The statement came amid ongoing developments linked to what officials described as Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Army extended Eid Al-Fitr greetings to His Highness the Amir, Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, as well as to the Kuwaiti people, expressing wishes for continued security, stability, and prosperity.
Colonel Al-Atwan also paid tribute to Kuwait’s fallen martyrs, praying for mercy upon them and honoring their sacrifices in defense of the nation.
