Kuwait Intercepts Hostile Drones; Two Injured After Drone Hits Southern Residential Building

KUWAIT CITY, March 12: Kuwaiti air defense systems intercepted several hostile drones that breached the country’s northern airspace at dawn on Thursday, according to a statement issued by the official spokesperson of the Kuwait Ministry of Defense.

Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al‑Otaibi, the ministry’s official spokesperson, said the air defense units successfully engaged and intercepted the aerial threats as they entered the country’s airspace.

In a separate incident, an enemy drone struck a residential building in one of Kuwait’s southern regions during the early morning hours. The attack caused injuries to two individuals and resulted in material damage to the property.

Authorities confirmed that the injured individuals were taken for medical treatment and are currently receiving the necessary care.

The ministry did not provide further details about the origin of the drones but said relevant authorities are continuing to monitor the situation.
