Kuwait Intercepts 9 Missiles, 4 Cruise Missiles and 31 Drones After Attack on Key Infrastructure

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 5: Kuwait’s Armed Forces said they intercepted multiple aerial threats over the past 24 hours, following an attack that targeted critical infrastructure across the country.

Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, said air defenses monitored and responded to nine ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles, and 31 hostile drones within Kuwaiti airspace, dealing with them in line with established procedures.

According to the statement, the drone attacks struck two power stations and water distillation plants, as well as facilities in the oil sector, including sites affiliated with the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. A building within the Ministries Complex was also hit.

The attacks resulted in significant material damage and scattered fires, which were brought under control by competent authorities. No casualties were reported.

The Armed Forces urged citizens and residents not to circulate images or videos from the targeted locations, warning that doing so could negatively impact public security. Officials also cautioned against spreading rumors or engaging with unverified social media accounts, emphasizing the need to rely on official sources for information.

The military said it remains on high alert, continuing to carry out its duties with vigilance while prioritizing the safety of citizens and residents. It added that public awareness and responsible information sharing are essential components of national security and defense efforts.
