Kuwait Intercepts 8 of 14 Hostile Drones; Three Soldiers Sustain Minor Injuries

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 15: The official spokesman for the Kuwait Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Saud Al-Otaibi, announced that 14 hostile drones were detected breaching the country’s airspace over the past 24 hours.

During a media briefing on the latest developments, Al-Otaibi said Kuwaiti air defenses successfully intercepted and destroyed eight of the drones. The falling debris from the destroyed drones caused some material damage in certain areas.  Three hostile drones targeted Kuwait International Airport, causing damage to the airport’s radar system but resulting in no human casualties.

Al-Otaibi added that an on-duty force from the Kuwait National Guard successfully dealt with five additional hostile drones, intercepting and destroying them within designated responsibility sites.

He also confirmed that three members of the armed forces sustained minor injuries during the incidents.

The Ministry reaffirmed that the armed forces remain fully prepared to safeguard the nation’s airspace and maintain security.
