Kuwait intercepts 4 missiles and 42 drones as attacks target energy and water facilities

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 8: Kuwait’s Armed Forces said they intercepted multiple incoming threats over the past 24 hours, as attacks attributed to Iran targeted key infrastructure across the country.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, official spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, said the military monitored and dealt with four hostile ballistic missiles and 42 drones within Kuwaiti airspace, handling them in line with established procedures.

He added that the attacks resulted in strikes on several facilities التابعة to the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, as well as power stations and water desalination plants.

The Armed Forces, in coordination with relevant authorities, said they are closely monitoring developments “minute by minute” and continuing to operate around the clock with high efficiency to counter threats.

The statement emphasized that Kuwait remains at a high level of readiness and full preparedness, as maintained since the start of the aggression.

Authorities also urged the public to rely only on official sources for information and to avoid spreading rumors or inaccurate reports, warning of their potential impact on public safety and security.
