KUWAIT CITY, July 15: Kuwait's Ministry of Defense announced that the Armed Forces successfully intercepted four cruise missiles and 21 hostile drones that entered the country's airspace during an Iranian attack early Wednesday, preventing what could have been a far greater disaster.
The ministry's official spokesman, Major General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, said the hostile aerial threats were detected from dawn and were immediately engaged by Kuwait's air defense systems.
According to the ministry, the Iranian aggression targeted several vital facilities across the country, resulting in material damage. However, no human casualties were reported.
Major General Al-Otaibi said the Armed Forces responded swiftly and effectively to the attack, reflecting the high level of readiness and operational capability maintained by Kuwait's defense forces.
He affirmed that the Armed Forces continue to carry out their duties with full efficiency under a state of continuous readiness and permanent preparedness to safeguard the country's security and protect the lives of citizens and residents.
Authorities did not disclose the locations of the targeted facilities or provide further details regarding the extent of the damage. Investigations and assessments are continuing.
