KUWAIT CITY, Apr 8: The Kuwait Armed Forces said its air defenses intercepted 28 drones targeting the country during what officials described as an intense wave of attacks on Wednesday.
In a statement issued by Defense Ministry spokesperson Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, authorities said the interceptions began at 8:00 a.m. and continued throughout the day.
Some of the drones were aimed at vital facilities in the south of Kuwait, including oil installations, power stations, and water desalination plants. Officials said the attacks caused significant material damage to infrastructure, though no casualties were immediately reported.
The General Staff of the Army said it remains fully engaged in monitoring and countering what it described as ongoing hostile threats, vowing continued efforts to protect the country’s airspace and critical assets.
