KUWAIT CITY, March 11: The Kuwaiti armed forces intercepted a wave of hostile aerial targets over the past 24 hours as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard the country’s security and counter potential threats, the Kuwait Ministry of Defense said.

Defense Ministry spokesman Saud Al-Atwan stated that air defense systems detected eight drones during the period. Seven of the drones were successfully engaged and neutralized, while one crashed outside the designated threat area.

In a separate operation, Kuwait National Guard forces shot down eight additional drones in the southern part of the country during ongoing monitoring and counter-insurgency operations.

Al-Atwan added that explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) teams have responded to 172 reports since the start of the current aggression, underlining that the armed forces remain fully prepared to handle any emergencies.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Ministry of Interior spokesman Nasser Bouslaib said EOD teams dealt with 18 reports related to shrapnel from defensive interception operations in the past 24 hours.

According to Bouslaib, the total number of reports handled by specialized teams since the beginning of the aggression has reached 347 across various regions of the country. Authorities continue to address the reports in accordance with established safety procedures.

He also urged residents who use home surveillance cameras to follow proper cybersecurity practices to protect privacy and security, stressing the importance of taking necessary steps to secure household monitoring systems.
