Kuwait Intercepts 13 Missiles, Destroys 6 Drones After Airport Fuel Tank Hit

KUWAIT CITY, March 25: Kuwait’s Armed Forces announced that air defence systems intercepted multiple incoming threats over the past 24 hours, as the country continues to respond to escalating regional tensions.

According to a statement issued by the official spokesman of the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, a total of 20 hostile ballistic missiles were detected within Kuwaiti airspace. Of these, 13 were successfully intercepted and destroyed, while seven fell outside designated threat zones without causing any danger.

The Armed Forces also reported the detection of nine hostile drones, six of which were shot down. Two drones struck a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, triggering a fire that is currently being contained by specialized emergency teams. Authorities confirmed that no human casualties have been recorded. One additional drone fell outside the threat area.

In a coordinated response, a National Guard unit successfully destroyed one drone and five unmanned aircraft within its operational zones, reflecting close cooperation among Kuwait’s military agencies.

The Kuwaiti Armed Forces reaffirmed their full readiness to defend the nation, emphasizing their commitment to safeguarding the country’s security and sovereignty amid ongoing developments.
