Kuwait Intercepts 1 Ballistic Missile Amid Heightened Regional Tensions

KUWAIT CITY, Mar 23: Kuwait’s air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed a 1 hostile ballistic missile within the country’s airspace over the past 24 hours, with no casualties or material damage reported, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense said on Monday.

In a media briefing, the ministry’s official spokesperson Saud Al-Atwan confirmed the interception, describing it as part of ongoing defensive operations in response to what he referred to as Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait.

He emphasized that the Kuwaiti Armed Forces, in coordination with various military and security agencies, remain on high alert and continue to carry out their duties with maximum readiness to safeguard national security and stability.

The statement added that these efforts are being carried out under the leadership of Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

The incident comes amid escalating regional tensions, with Kuwait reinforcing its defense posture to counter potential threats.
